Trouble Updating Your Password? Here’s What You Need to Know
Keeping your account secure is a top priority, and strong passwords play a big role in protecting your information. When updating your password, make sure it meets the following requirements:
Password Requirements
Minimum Length: Your password must be at least 12 characters long.
Avoid Personal Information: Your password cannot include details like: your name, username, or email address.
Avoid Account Information: Your password cannot include details like: account ID, club name, or organization name.
No Reuse: Your new password cannot be the same as your last password, and should not be a password you use with any other accounts.
Security Check: Passwords that are commonly used or appear on globally known restricted password lists cannot be used.
Tips for Creating a Strong Password
Consider using a passphrase - a short sequence of simple words that are easy to remember and difficult to guess.
Avoid predictable patterns such as “123456” or “password” and avoid references to your organization (e.g. Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, etc.)
Consider using a password manager to generate and manage passwords, such as 1Password.
